“Poetry is the language in which man explores his own amazement.” Christopher Fry
I think Christopher Fry wanted to say that Poetry is a words for a man to say “Amazing”, “So beautiful”, “So great”, “Unbelievable”, or “This is the greatest thing I ever saw in my life”, even “You’re the most beautiful girl in the whole world”, “Aw, this kitty is so cute”.
The word “Language” in his quote showed me that poetry is not just a words that written on a papers, but it’s a language which pronounced by heart into a script that written by hand. When you make poetry, you’re not just writing, but you also speak to the reader, tell the reader about your feeling, your experience, even your daily activities. That’s what the word “Language” in my mind.
By the word “Amazement” in his quote, I could imagine that world has many wonders which always made us amazed for their beauty. And to make it special, some people made poetry to express their feeling for nature and life. Most of poetries made for an amazement of nature, life and death, happiness, sadness, reckless and restless, and many others.
But, the word “Explores” is the main word for me. For me, it’s mean that I need to be imaginative and creative to express every feeling that I want to get in my poetry. By explore words, I can make an amazing language to express my amazement. That’s all.
